The electives must include specific courses associated with the area of specialization. Specifically, at least four of the elective courses must be taken from the following table. An "X" (for each of the areas of specialization) indicates that the course on the left counts toward a Citation in the subfield listed on the Citations of Special Achievement page:

* Determination of how ECO 389 or ECO 391 can be used to fulfill a Citation will be based on the topic and method of your research. Students wishing to count these courses towards a Citation should submit a petititon to the department.
Graduate courses may be applied to any area of specialization.
NOTE: Internships (ECO 394) do provide credit toward a Citation in either Finance. However, internships do not count toward your major in economics. If an internship is used toward a Citation it must be used as the additional course required for the Citation.
