The graduate economics program at the University of Rochester is designed to develop scholars who will contribute to the advancement of economic science through their research and teaching. We keep the program small enough to allow a high degree of both formal and informal interaction between students and faculty. Once students begin research, they start to be regarded more as junior colleagues than as students. This close contact between students and faculty is the main source of the traditionally high value-added of the Rochester economics program.
